Questions before your first storm?
What is Lightning Club?
Lightning Club is a browser game and live lightning map for Europe. Actual observed lightning powers a persistent storm-rover expedition, a short live challenge and monthly storm tickets.
Are the lightning strikes real?
Live modes use lightning observations from Blitzortung.org and its contributors. They are observations, not forecasts. Coverage, latency and availability vary; missing strikes are not invented.
Do I need to go outside or drive in a storm?
No. All travel and targets are virtual points on the map. Choose a city or map location; sharing your real location is optional.
Can I play for free without an account?
The live map and You vs. nature are free to try without registration. Storm Expedition and monthly Storm tickets use a free Lightning Club account to save progress.
Which leaderboard counts my score?
Storm Expedition ranks lifetime energy-earning catches. Storm tickets ranks monthly points. You vs. nature stores a personal best on the current device, not a global rank. Historical training is separate.
What if there is no storm or the feed disconnects?
Expedition has slow emergency charging and roadside recharge so you can keep moving. Interrupted live rounds are returned and detected feed outages pause ticket expiry; missing observations cannot be reconstructed.
Does Lightning Club send emails?
Not yet. Email notifications and password recovery are not available. Keep your password safe; gifts are shared by link.

Lightning observations: Blitzortung.org and its contributors. Lightning Club is an independent, unofficial project, not an official Blitzortung service. The map is for play and curiosity, not safety decisions.
Opening sound: “Castle Thunder Frankenstien 1931 Exact Replica” by DrKittensworth, used unedited under CC BY 4.0. This is the creator’s reconstruction, not the original film recording. Map attribution remains visible in the map; road radio uses embedded YouTube videos. Gameplay thunder uses ten original synthesized variations, not recordings of the displayed detections. The game announcer uses original Quake III Arena demo voice samples (id Software); the project is independent of id Software. Sound effects and announcer volume can be adjusted separately in FX → Sound mix.
