STORM EXPEDITION · PERSISTENT STRATEGY
Fuelled by storms.
Built by you.
Your storm-catching rover, your own European territories, and real lightning that changes your route. Save your progress with a Lightning Club account.
Start your expedition →Your first expedition
- Create an account or sign in, then choose a starting capital or a place on land. You can optionally use your real location.
- Begin with 240 energy and 20 parts. Park near an active storm: real lightning inside your antenna range charges the rover.
- Choose a destination, review the route, energy cost and journey time, then drive.
- Within 25 km of a capital, deploy a beacon for 20 energy and 15 parts to secure its territory.
- Visit new capitals and spend parts on your battery, antenna, collector, motor and water kit.
Energy, upgrades and offline catches
A starting collector earns up to 6 energy per active catch, or 1 while offline. Battery space limits the actual energy received. Offline storage is capped at 15% of battery capacity per absence. An energy-earning strike counts once in your lifetime catch total.
The battery carries more energy; the antenna widens your reach; the collector increases the yield. Motor upgrades make journeys up to twice as fast without increasing fuel use. The amphibious kit costs 350 parts and unlocks water crossings. Equipment changes the 3D rover visually.
One energy moves you roughly 10 km along the virtual route. No nearby storm? A slow dynamo restores 2 energy per minute up to 60, and roadside recharge can restore energy with a 30-minute cooldown. These are not lightning catches.
Travelling has a cost
Your collector folds during a journey. A new lightning observation within 2 km of the moving rover sends it back to the departure point and clears energy and parts. Your territories, purchased upgrades and lifetime catches remain. This also applies if you close the game during a trip.
Achievements and hunter titles
Open More → your hunter title (or Progress on desktop) for 16 field badges and your next milestone. Earlier catches, claimed territories, visited capitals and purchased upgrades already count. Earned badges follow your account and survive a road hit.
Hunter titles advance with lifetime catches: Rookie (0), Spark Scout (10), Storm Chaser (50), Thunder Rider (250), Tempest Hunter (1,000) and Lightning Legend (5,000). These are personal milestones, not your position in the global leaderboard. Badges do not award energy or parts.
Hear the storm around you
With sound enabled, new lightning visible on the map can produce illustrative thunder even outside your collector range. These quieter background rumbles do not award energy or catches. Your own captured strikes keep their impact effects; use FX → Sound mix to adjust thunder and announcer volume.
Your own Europe. One clear ranking.
Every player secures their own territories; other players cannot steal them. The Expedition leaderboard compares lifetime catches that added energy, including active and offline catches. Full-battery effects, previews and emergency charging do not add catches. Road hits never reset the total.
